Phil’s Diary - [Blog @ http://www.philsdiary.net/]
For a long long time I’ve wanted to move this diary over to a DB based place. Partly because I work with DB driven websites, and often feel inclined to write such a place (but never find the time, or inclination to do so), and partly because it would save me a lot of work. One of the biggest annoyances with doing the site manually is creating and maintaining all the links. With a DB driven site all that could be handled automatically.
The biggest obstacle so far has been all the setup. To be fair I don’t mind following through installation instructions. It was more that most of the tools have needed a MySQL DB or similar, and I’ve not had the motivation to sort one out (lacking, as I do, my own always on connected Linux box).
So finally today, I bite the bullet and collect one of the many blog tools, and set this place up. I’ve not played around with many of the options, the colour schemes are default, and I expect it to change. That said, I’d welcome any comments or suggestions you have, but be aware that it’s now not totally in my control.
Let me know what you think. Heck use the comment widget below this entry if you like.

Oh, sure. I figure you for dead, or at least brain dead after programming all day, and you go do this on me. Looks nice, but that's a cruel taunt - "With this new diary system I can pretty much update from whereever I like (Internet connected PC required), so hopefully you'll see more updates than previously."
Right. ;-)
I like how it looks, though. Quite spiffy.
