Penalties

Another pretty straightforward day at work. Nice weather too.

Lots of talk at the moment about bringing back the death sentance here. Lots of talk like this everytime someone does something nasty, Harold Shipman was the last time as I recall.

What do I think. Not quite sure to be honest. I’m sure that Bob Thompson is right when he suggests that years of agonizing torture would be far more effective as a deterent. I also wonder how more humane the death penalty is than Bob’s suggestion.

It’s interesting to note that as far as most people are concerned the current person being held for the murder of Holly and Jessica, are guilty. The chaps not had a trial, us the public haven’t even been shown any evidence at all, yet already most people think he’s guilty, and would probably only waver if you asked them (thus planting the seed of doubt). With so much media attention, and almost certain persuasion, does someone really stand a chance, even if aquited or found not guilty.

Quiet evening in tonight.
