Sorry again for the abnormal timing of posts today. Things have been a bit thown out.
So, what did the BT engineer find?
He found that the line works fine, the two test domains work perfectly, and that there is nothing wrong with the hardware side of things.
We spent about 2.5 hours waiting on the phone for the various BT tech support people to scratch their heads.
In the end they’ve passed to problem back to my ISP, so hopefully they’ll do some head scratching too.
All in all though it does mean that I’m not closer at all to getting the thing working. I’ve posted some more details to the ISP about the problem (error message, plus a netsh trace of the PPP login). Hopefully that’ll help them out.
With the BT engineer gone I got straight off to work, where I was kept nice and busy.
Back home now, with at least one new DVD to watch.
