I laughed very very hard when my ISP told me what was causing me to not be able to connect to their system. Turns out, they’d not allocated me an IP address. Obviously on a static IP based system, if you ain’t got one, you can’t log in.

What’s a shame in all this is the way that it was blamed on BT without anyone checking the basics first. I hope they learned a little.

Anyhow, now have ADSL up and running, so I’m like a kid with a new toy for a while (probably until it breaks).
