Thought I might have a go at getting my linux box using ADSL, rather than my Windows machine.
As luck would have it there is a driver for my modem (a USB thingy).
However after around 15minutes I’d pretty much dissmissed the idea.
The driver is in it’s early stages, and amongst other things, lacks any documentation.
My life would’ve been a fair bit easier if I’d bought a networked ADSL modem, or a router even.
I also then thought about setting my Windows box as a proxy for the linux box. That ended as soon as “Connection Sharing” in Windows 2000 says it’s going to change my IP address. I think not.
Anyhow. I’ll leave all that for another day.
