My brother drops in this lunch time (just after I’ve got up), and we head out into town. He decides to get a new mobile, and for some bizarre reason when you get a new mobile they’ll give you 50quid off a portable colour telly… so I pick one of those up (for 30quid), and then on to the cinema. The film was "Time Machine", which was reasonable. It seemed a short film (for which I was grateful). Had too many holes in the story, too much left unexplained. And with it being a short film, very little actually happened.
We originally got some rather naff seats (back row, right in one corner), after trying to change seats, and failing we spoke to the usher, who pointed out the middle row were "house" seats, ie. you couldn’t book them, and suggested we sit there. Lucky us.
Anyway, the cinema was rather on the hot side, being as they had no air-con (?!?!). So we got our money back for that one. Free film, even if it was rather uncomfortable watching it.
Then on to have some pizza. After sitting waiting for our pizza for about 3/4 of an hour we asked one of the staff where our food was (we were plenty hungry by then), and they found that no one has actually entered our order into the computer. So the pizza came free too.
Back home and sleep, after what turned out to be a rather cheap day out. My brother is known for his complaining ability (to the managers, for a refund, rather than whining to me), but even he admits that perhaps it’s just that he attracts bad luck and poor performance. On today’s evidence, that’s quite possible.
