Phil’s Diary - [Blog @ http://www.philsdiary.net/]
The still pics weren’t bad. But I’m supposed to be trying out cutting edge technology here, and still pictures are definitely yesterday’s technology.
I would have set up my own streaming media server, but the software to do that costs a small fortune (several thousand pounds for the basic “Real Player” stuff, for example).
So instead I’m using the “Camarades” setup. It’s free. It still streams the video from my PC, and it seems to work reasonably well.
Use the fishtank link as before, it’ll redirect you. This will allow me to move back to stills if I find the streaming either to restrictive on my net use, or it crashes too much.
The video is 320x240 The camera could do 640x400, but I can only get 9fps when I’m doing 320x240 (and besides the software for this only allows 320x240).
I hope you enjoy it more than the stills. Let me know what you think!

Have a play with Windows Media Encoder.

I've used it to stream live TV, from my ondigital box, over my ADSL ;)
