Phil’s Diary - [Blog @ http://www.philsdiary.net/]
Steve, who lives in the flat below me has been very helpful ever since I bought a fishtank. He looks after fish at work and used to have his own tank. He knows plenty, and as well as you people, has provided me with some helpful advice (and the loan of some good books).
However ever since I got a tank he’s also been saying how he wishes he had one himself. However, as he’s always said, he’s just not got room for it.
So I took it upon myself to talk some sense into him today. Showed him that if he were prepared to move the odd bit of furniture a little, there were places he could put a tank.
Now admittedly this wouldn’t be a monster tank, like he was used to, but it would still be a fishtank.
With a little measuring and a quick trip to the fish store, he’s now happy that there are tanks that will fit in his flat.
Whether he goes ahead and gets one, is down to him, I just wouldn’t want him using space as an excuse, when it’s not really valid (money, time, aesthetics etc. however are all valid).
Be aware however that minimal pressure was applied. I just said the things that perhaps he’d not thought of. The rest is down to him.
