Pizza

Ruth gets here just after lunch and after a quick cup of tea, we disappear off out, first to visit the graveyard of a nearby church (which contains the fictional grave of a fictional character in one of Charles Dickens’ books), as well as to give me a chance to show her some of my old home town.

We stop home briefly before going back out and getting some pizza. This turns out to be a little more eventful than normal. The first pizza place we stop at we’re greeted by a rather depressed employee. The pizza place has a no smoking policy, which is in conflict with the stickers all over their doors. Finally the seats aren’t particularly clean and the table sticky.

We vanish and go to the next nearby pizza place, where things are altogether better. The service was very good indeed, and we leave at just about the right time to watch the film.

The film was “the hours”, which was a strange film indeed. I’d draw parallels with “Magnolia”, though I may be wrong. Ruth suggested, and I’d agree that it’s not a “mass-appeal” film.

Back home around midnight and off to bed.
