Ironbridge

Up early this morning (a rather novel thing for me), and off for some breakfast, some petrol for Ruth’s car and then on to Coalbrookdale to show her Ironbridge Gorge. As it happens I get a little disorientated, and we end up on a nice long walk along Silken way, missing the bridge completely. After spending most of the morning walking (pleasant as it was), we change car parks and spend a brief time looking at the bridge.

Back home just in time for some dinner, and then packed and on the road. As we’re in separate cars, Ruth zooms off into the distance, though some cunning traffic jam avoiding techniques see us meeting up again on the M40. I then trail behind by some distance, and get home some 20minutes after Ruth.

We then settle for some TV and chocolate.

Work tomorrow. Holiday over.

Thanks for that, it's an interesting article, though the pictures make it much clearer in my mind.

Phil

Have you looked at the BBC website that describes a theory as to how the IronBridge was built..

Link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/society_culture/industrialisation/iron_bridge_01.shtml

I went looking for this after catching the last half of the program on television here in Toronto. Since my parents now live in Shrewsbury, and I've been to IronBridge a few times while over on holiday, I have a certain interest in IronBridge and the surrounding area.

(Of course, the point that I'm originally from just down the road from you in Oxford [Banbury] has nothing do do with why I added you and Ruth to my regular Diary reading).
