Dog training

According to Ruth I’m not firm enough with Neo. Apparently I need to shout a bit more. I don’t think she’s far wrong. When I’m sitting on the sofa Neo quite often spends her time trying to climb on me (which is a tad distractive when I’m watching telly). Neo tries it with Ruth too every now and again but jumps down pretty quickly when Ruth yells at her. Now it’s not that I can’t be assertive, it’s just that I’m not normally outwardly pushy, and definitely don’t like shouting either. It’s just not my thing. That said, if I’m going to be spending much more time with the dog, I’d better do something to stop her (literally) climbing all over me.

And just before I go to bed, Ruth has posted a nice chunk on immigrants, which we discussed briefly on the phone tonight. I agree pretty much entirely with what she says. These people’s desires are in the right place, but they just seem to be going about it all the wrong way.

Hi, Phil!
Sounds like you needed to learn some management skills for Neo. How did it go? Did you stop yelling and become a better leader?
