Phil’s Diary - [Blog @ http://www.philsdiary.net/]
A rather warm and sunny cheers me up no end. There’s nothing like a bit of nice weather to improve my mood.
Amazon’s little blunder today managed to lose them 50minutes trade at a time when many people may have been shopping (lunctime). I’m guessing the 50minute down time wasn’t to find the mis-priced items but to check that there wasn’t too much other stuff mis-priced.
Everyone seems to be assuming that the war with Iraq will start in a few hours time (6hours). Certainly current troop movements would suggest that an attack is imminent. And I guess the balance of probability indicates that it won’t be long. However if the troops do move in a few minutes after 1am GMT, it’ll be a bit like the battles of old, when the two sides stood at opposite ends of the field and waitied for the appointed time. That said, I guess when you’ve as many forces as the US and bombers ready to do their damage you don’t really need that much surprise.
I’m still not sure I’m for the violence.
Svenson in discussion today mentioned the situation in North Korea. That’s obviously being overlooked at the moment, but it does seem a little like Korea is spoiling for a war. They’re not taunting like Sadam, they’re out and out provoking.
You’ve got to wonder what they’ve got up their sleave that makes them so desperate for a war.
My posts of late have been filled with talk of war and conflict. I guess that with all the press coverage and news being almost totally dominated by it, there’s a lot of my thought going into thinking about where I stand, and what’s next. I apologise, if I seem a little one track in that respect.
