Phil’s Diary - [Blog @ http://www.philsdiary.net/]
Right, having watched the first Matrix movie yesterday, I think I’ll go and watch the newer one sometime this morning (I would go this evening, but I have to be at work). Yes, I know, playing into the hands of the MIAA/RIAA, but then if I thought me not going would really make a difference, then I’d not go.
My sister, after a stint working at a cinema mentioned that they make a loss on showing films and recoup the money selling popcorn, drinks, confectionery etc.
So by going and watching the film and not buying anything else, I should be costing the above organisations money.
Anyway, I’ll let you know what I thought of it when I get back.

nonono.
The cinema's are making a loss, not the MPAA-and-friends. The cinema pays the hole price for the film whether they get enough revenue on the film or not.
If you go in, buy popcorn and coke and walk out without watching a film you would be supportingh the local cinema without lining the MPAA's pockets.
