Phil’s Diary - [Blog @ http://www.philsdiary.net/]
A strange thing happened this evening. Someone from BT calls me, they want to send me details of some ways I might be able to save a few quid by changing line packages. Pretty normal, up until when you’d expect the call to end. At that point the BT guy asks whether I know anything about PCs, and then puts me on to his colleague who’s having problems getting a computer game he bought recently to work. That discussion took a good ten minutes, far longer than the sales part of the call had.
Eh?
Definitely not your normal tactic for sales I’m sure.

Better still than what happened to me.
Got a call from Belgacom (the ex phone-monopoly) with some offers for extra services. I didn't have time to listen then so I declined the offer but accepted a 'contact back late'.
Next I get a (free) service added 'because you requested it'. Oh, well, it's a free service so I will see, I suppose I can cancel that later.
Then, last week, I get another service added 'because you requested it'. This one isn't free and even free I wouldn't want it (some family targetted stuff).
