Well it turns out the parcel was the chassis stiffening plate for the car. Turns out parcel force did something half sensible. The parcel had been mis-addressed, and they’d used the phone book to track me down. Well done them.
Manage to get sun-burn on the drive back home (and it’s not even summer!)… but that’ll be tomorrow(and perhaps years down the line)’s problem.
Back home and I let the car cool and have some lunch and then pop out to buy some ramps to help fit this plate. Back home and the ramps won’t go under the front of the car, only the back. With the car up it’s not too hard with the help of my dad to get the old tiny plate off and the new beefy one on.
Then out for a spin and the car. The car was pretty good, but this helps even more, the chassis is now rock solid, and so I can quite happily drift the car round roundabouts (going to need new tyres soon).
Anyway, with that done I set about washing and waxing the car. Nothing like a good bit of exercise.
It’s been a lovely day today. Just hoping it stays the same tomorrow for the mr2 club meet.
