I was going to finish watching a movie this evening, but instead I’ve been reading around all the fury with regard to the new MT 3.0 licenesing. Even funnier is how all this hatred is linked to from main MT site. Not best business strategy.
There seem to be three main reasons for the problems:
1) People didn’t see it coming, what little feedback there has been suggested a free version, with a feature-rich paid for version.
2) The pricing is rather high
3) The restrictions make the pricing higher.
FWIW most people aren’t against paying for good software, they’re just against paying so much and being mislead.
Lots of annoyed people. Lots of ranting and raving. But as I said, the best bit has to be the way trackbacks mean that all this is listed and linked to from the offical MT Site. Big ooops.
