Loads of Stuff

Definitely not a lazy weekend. What with working Saturday and Sunday, and today, it’s been anything but.

Abi dropped by first thing this morning (after dropping off her house-guest of the past few days at the airport). Once up and out of the door early we’re off to the garage first to look at cars for Abi. With some more ideas, about cars, money and the likes we head off on to Banbury.

The next step was to look at and sit on some sofa’s. I will need one in my new place, and with a roughly 3month waiting time, I may as well get them ordered soonish.

We were going to look, but after sitting on a few and deciding what I liked, we started trying to find some that fitted my criteria. In the end we found a nice leather one in their half-price sale, and so ordered two sofas (a three seat and two seat), for just under a 1000pounds.

Confusingly for me (who’s not used to not being ripped off), the sofas are all offered on a 4year interest free basis, with no payments in the first year. If only I could have gotten a deal similar to that with the house (or car).

Anyway, with that all sorted, we get some lunch and head back to Oxford. Next stop is the fish shop to have a look at tank stands. I didn’t bother when I bought my fish tank, and at the moment it’s sitting on a piece of cardboard on the floor (not far to fall). But with moving the tank I figured it would be a good chance to pop the tank on something a little less amateur looking, and also allow me to arrange furniture (with something exactly tank size) before actually moving the tank (something which will be a mini-logistics challenge in itself).

So, with that stowed in the car (thankyou Abi!), we go on to B&Q to get some storage boxes to stash stuff in when I move. I’ve already got a few cardboard boxes, but these smaller plastic ones will come in very handy too.

As we sit in a mini traffic jam trying to leave the car-park, we have an ice-cream, and then got off home.

And then it’s been down a gear for a slightly more relaxing evening, easy tea and a bit of telly.

Anyway, back to the current mayhem that is work tomorrow.
