“Trust No One” was the X-Files phrase. As I go through life dealing with external companys it’s something that’s getting more and more like sane advice. Time and time again I deal with companys who stuff up, and then fail miserably to put things right. I’ve mentioned some of them before, and with work today, find yet another. Sometimes you’re better off just going it alone, doing it for yourself. If you host your own mailserver, DNS server, webserver etc. etc. then there aren’t many people left to blame when things go wrong, apart from yourself. It’s less frustrating that way I find.
