Lighting
Using a camera is good way to make you realise how good the human eye is at coping with “difficult” lighting conditions.

And after a couple of years gazing at bad screens you realise how good your eyes USED TO BE with dificult lighting.

I'm no doctor but I think it's a combination of the eye and the brain, working together, that provides the ability to "see" more than a camera can in many, but not all, lighting conditions.
