Intel Inside

Seems Apple are switching over to Intel. Apart from the software compatibility (and I wouldn’t be surprised if the emulator is pretty good by the time the switch comes), I can’t see a lot of initial change.

I guess further down the line it depends on whether PCs can be made to run the Mac OS and software, and whether Apple is aiming to change itself to a software company with a few bits of optional hardware available, or whether it’s trying to keep the hardware side alive.

It could well be that after a short while it’ll be the former, after all, why struggle to lock people into hardware unless it’s your core money-maker. And if it is, then this move it taking a bit of a risk.

The emulator is rumoured to be Transitive's Dynamite :-)

Remember Steve's 3rd year project? :-)
