Treasure Hunt

Up relatively early this morning to get over to Essex for the MR2 clubs annual treasure hunt. After a quick snack and coffee stop, we get given our clues, and head off. From there on it’s about 2 hours of very intense competition. Abi was co-driver, so reading out the clues (some of which were driving instructions, some needed an answer), writing answers and watching out for more answers. I drove. As a team we did ok. It’s hard to explain how intense it was though. I guess it’s a mix of three things. First you need to keep your eyes peeled for the answer, but this also conflicts with the need to get a move on, so you can’t just crawl along. Also, as the driving instructions are mixed in with the other questions, you need to keep two or three steps ahead, watching out for the next turn, as well as the other clue, just in case you pass it. And as soon as you’ve made a turn, straight onto the next clue just in case it’s just ahead.

That said it was good fun, even if compared to the others we didn’t do brilliantly, we did ok.

Back home and we’re both exhausted so we get some food and watch TV.
