I reckon Amstrad have managed to add a sort of VCR emulator to their Sky+ box. In the same way that I used to mess up now and again, setting the timer after the program had started, or on the wrong day, so the Sky+ box has managed to automate that, with occasional (but often enough) errors of “Program start missed”, or “Technical fault”.

So while it still improves on the VCR in many ways, it still keeps some of those odd flaws, and keeps you on your toes.
