Boom

I don’t know if it’s the heat, or just chance but the PC hosting this blog (and all Abi’s) has decided to stop working. We unplug it and take it downstairs, and after a brief hoovering, try again. The fans momentarily have power but not enough to move them more than a few mm. Then nothing.

So in order to eliminate a few possibilities we remove everything bar the CPU. Still nothing. Until that is we remove the 4 Pin P4 power connector.… then the fans start and keep going.

Of course the PC won’t work without that, so we try without the CPU too. Still the same. Hmmm.

So at that point I figure it’s more likely to be the power supply (unable to supply enough juice for the CPU). So we order a new PSU.…. we’ll see how it goes.
