Steam Powered

Back in work today for “essential server maintenance”. Fortunately it’s a little cooler today than it has been all week. Unfortuantely that’s due to storms and flash floods, which cause power disruption, and a fair bit of damage in our back garden (like a mini-hurricane according to Abi).

I get home pretty late, but luckily for me Abi’s been into town to pick up my latest toy. Must say it’s well presented in it’s packaging. Includes everything needed (inc. track, heat proof gloves, even screwdrivers). Despite sweating like a piggy (it’s now warm and very very humid), I do get it setup after some pizza.

And after two derailments and one stall, I’ve got to say it’s very cool, but pretty damn tricky to drive. I also have a sneaking suspicion that with a long straight piece of track it could go very fast indeed.

With a real steam engine in the house it will get even hotter there.
ps. Have you checked you fire-insurance? they might not be happy with a fast-moving fire source in your house.
