Skates

Well, at Abi’s request we head off ice-skating this afternoon. It’s something I’ve not done in years (as in around 15), and Abi even longer. We both have a pretty shakey start, though I’m feeling pretty brave and stay away from the edge.

I win 3-2 on falls, and will probably suffer with the bruises for a good week or so. Abi manages both her falls backwards (one with a nice bang on the head), mine all forwards.

After what seems like ages, but was probably only thirty minutes we’re both knackered, and pretty nicely banged and bruised and head off home.

First time is fun. The second time is hell. You regained just enough experiance to try more daring moves and you'll fall down on already sore an unhealed bruises.
