DIY

After I finally got up this morning, we head off to the local homebase store to pick up a few bits. We were originally going to get some more enegery saving lighbulbs, but ran into a problem. The remaining lights we’ve got are spotlight types (all bar one chosen by the previous owner, and nice enough), unfortunately the majority of energy saving bulbs are for normal style light bulbs. Abi had spotted some energy saving spots, but when we get there, we find they’re charging a whopping £10, and with 3-5 per light, that’s quite expensive. So we decide against, and instead by some wood to make Rupert a new ramp (to get out of the kitchen into the garden).

Once home we make use of Abi’s new work bench and tools out in the garden shed and put together the new ramp, which looks quite good if you ask me, though Rupert will probably take plenty of persuading.

We then use his old ramp (which was some garden edging) to finish off the garden edging, though this requires a bit more cutting and nailing as the bit left was the “awkward” end bits where the edging was too long.

I bought Sid Meier’s Railroads, the other day. All I’ll say is if you haven’t bought it yet, wait. It crashes so often at the moment it’s pointless. Wait until the patch is out (rumour is they’ve already identified 16!!!! was to crash it, and have fixed them, and are now waiting for QA).

And that was about all the excitement for the day.
